deadline.com/2015/02/netflix-jamie-dornan-jadotville-50-shades-of-grey-1201374525/Jamie Dornan-Starrer ‘Jadotville’ Heads To Netflix Netflix said Monday it had acquired war thriller Jadotville starring Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s Jamie Dornan to premiere across all its territories in 2016. Dornan co-stars opposite Guillaume Canet (Blood Ties). The film is based on the 1961 siege of an Irish UN battalion by 3,000 Congolese troops, led by French and Belgian mercenaries working for mining companies. It will go into production in April this year, in Ireland and South Africa. Dornan will plays Irish commander Patrick Quinlan while Canet plays a French commander. Richie Smyth directs and Alan Moloney produces for Parallel Films. The screenplay was written by Kevin Brodbin. “As filmmakers, we are constantly looking for new ways to bring a movie to the largest possible audience. Netflix has already reinvented the TV market and is now moving front and center into the film business,” said Moloney. The project was brought to the European Film Market at Berlin by Alex Walton’s Bloom. The deal with Netflix was negotiated by UTA Independent Film Group. Dornan is repped by UTA and the UK’s United Agents.
