Fantasy drama “The Lost Dragon” is a time travel story involving two fairies who have come down to earth for a special mission, and in the process encounter all the foibles and quirks of humanity. The film is directed by Cuong Ngo and stars action star Ngo Thanh Van and comedian Le Khanh. Production is through leading stable BHD and VAA Pictures. Released theatrically on Friday, “Dragon” opened strongly with an opening day score of VD1 billion ($48,000). “Super X,” from the rival Galaxy Studios, is a send up of the superhero genre, featuring a gay hero who has many bad habits and weaknesses. BHD and Vietnam Media are now in advance post-production on “Farewell, Berlin Wall,” a period, crime drama, much of it told from a female perspective. The director is Nguyen Phan Quang Binh, who previously directed 2010 box office record breaker “Floating Lives.” “Farewell” shot for 15 days in Berlin and 35 days in Vietnam. Expected to be one of the biggest Vietnamese films of the year, “Farewell” will release in April.
