variety.com/2015/film/news/berlin-euro-horror-cub-set-for-artsploitation-release-exclusive-1201427787/European horror film “Cub” (aka “Welp”) will get a theatrical release in North America in mid-year through distributor Artsploitation Films. The company struck a deal with Paris-based Kinology, which is handling international sales. The film involves a 12-year-old boy attending a Boy Scout camp, which is terrorized by an evil feral creature. It is the debut feature of Jonas Govaerts and was produced by Potemkino. It premiered in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto festival in September and has gone on to have a strong festival career, with circuit stops including London, Fantastic Fest and Sitges. Artsploitation plans a theatrical release in the summer of this year, with DVD and VOD releases to follow in the fall. The deal was negotiated by Artsploitation’s president Raymond Murray and Kinology’s Ram Murali.
