Zorraquin’s directorial debut follows fisherman Atilio as he travels with his granddaughter Iara to Buenos Aires. The film, which is part road movie and part coming-of-age drama, portrays two generations of Paraguayans whose views of the world seem centuries apart. The Paraguay-Argentina film is produced by Salta Una Rana Cine, Z+F Cine and Puatarara Films. Media Luna has also acquired Barney Cheng’s “Baby Steps,” which it is screening in Berlin. The U.S.-Taiwanese comedy-drama centers on Danny and his boyfriend, Tate, who long to have a baby. The complex world of international surrogacy is further complicated by Danny’s well-meaning but meddlesome mother, who wants to control every aspect of the process. The film stars Gua Ah-Leh and Michael Adam Hamilton. Hsu Li-Kong produces alongside Stephen Israel for Baby Banquet and Tang Moon.
