variety.com/2015/film/news/berlin-radiants-dare-to-be-wild-clinches-key-territories-exclusive-1201427818/Mimi Steinbauer’s Radiant Films Intl. has closed key territories on romantic comedy “Dare to Be Wild,” which had its world market premiere at Berlin’s European Film Market. Starring Emma Greenwell (“Shameless,” “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”) and Tom Hughes (“Silk,” “About Time,” “Cemetery Junction”), “Dare to Be Wild” centers on an Irish girl from the countryside who challenges the wealthiest of British high society at a world-renowned flower show, bringing her spirited, offbeat style into the traditionally conservative competition. Film is being sold in the vein of beloved underdog films like “Billy Elliot” and “Slumdog Millionaire.” Key distributors who have bought “Wild” include the Klockworx Co. (Japan), Pinnacle Films (Australia/New Zealand), Cinemundo (Portugal), Gulf Film (Middle East), Forum Film (Israel), Blue Reign (South Africa), Myndform (Iceland) and Captive (airlines). Produced by Rebecca O’Flanagan and Robert Walpole, “Wild” marks the feature film debut of writer-director Vivienne de Courcy. Sarah Johnson and Chloe Kassis Crowe executive produce. Steinbauer commented: “Buyers at the EFM have truly embraced this uplifting and gorgeously shot film, which is based on the true story of Mary Reynolds, a garden designer from Ireland who went on to win the acclaimed Chelsea flower show.”
