variety.com/2015/film/news/the-hallow-distribution-ifc-midnight-berlin-film-festival-1201424273/IFC Midnight has bought U.S. rights to Corin Hardy’s horror film “The Hallow” on the heels of its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the Park City at Midnight section. IFC closed the deal at the Berlin Film Festival, where Altitude is selling international rights. Hardy directed from a script he wrote with Felipe Marino. Joseph Mawle, Bojana Novakovic, Michael McElhatton and Michael Smiley star. Occupant Entertainment’s Joe Neurauter produced the film with Marino. Tim Smith, Paul Brett, Michael Mailis, Will Clarke and Kate Sharp executive produced the film. “The Hallow” is set deep within the darkness of secluded forestland in rural Ireland. When a conservationist from London moves in with his wife and infant child in order to survey the land for future construction, his actions unwittingly disturb the horde of demonic forces. Variety‘s Geoff Berkshire gave “The Hallow” a positive review, saying that fans would be seeking a sequel. The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco for IFC Midnight with WME Global and ICM Partners on behalf of the filmmakers. IFC Midnight also acquired JM Cravioto’s revenge thriller “Reversal” out of Sundance.
