variety.com/2015/film/news/berlin-liam-cunningham-joins-now-shooting-childhood-1201427139/“Game of Thrones” star Liam Cunningham has joined the cast of “The Childhood of a Leader,” which has now begun shooting in Hungary. The Robert Pattinson and Berenice Bejo-starring picture is the directorial debut of Brady Corbet and is a chilling story of fascism in the early 20th century. The story sees an American family settling in the French countryside at the end of WWI . The father is involved in the peace negotiations and his wife is a devoutly Christian stay-at-home mother. Their young son is a defiant seven year-old whose seemingly harmless tantrums begin to demonstrate a monster in the making. “Childhood” is produced by Chris Coen (“Funny Games,” “Shadow Dancer”), Antoine de Clermont-Tonnerre, Helena Danielsson (“Beyond”) and Istvan Major (“Lisa,” “The Foxfairy”). Ron Curtis, Brian Young, Aaron L. Gilbert, Michael Sherman, Matthew Perniciaro, and Patrick Murray executive produce with Genevieve Lemal co-producing. Protagonist Pictures is handling international sales. WME is handling rights in North America.
