Mia Wasikowska’s Madame Bovary Sells For Radiant Films
Radiant Films International has completed multiple sales deals in territories worldwide for Madame Bovary starring Mia Wasikowska including all French-speaking rights to Jour2Fête and Italy to Paco Pictures. Additional sales include Benelux to A-Film, Scandinavia to Svensk Filmindustri and Portugal to NOS Lusomundo Audiovisuais, Latin America to Swen, Australia to Transmission Films, South Korea to Noori Pictures, Turkey to Aqua Pinema, Middle East to Gulf Film, Greece to Odeon and Iceland to Myndform. Radiant is handling all foreign sales on the project which they are actively selling at EFM.
The Solution Boards Tokyo Vice Starring Daniel Radcliffe
The Solution Entertainment Group is handling international rights to Tokyo Vice, produced by John Lesher’s Le Grisbi Productions. The Solution’s Myles Nestel and Lisa Wilson will exec produce and present to buyers at the EFM. UTA is representing US rights. Adam Kassan is also producing. Binn Jakupi will executive produce. The underworld thriller is scheduled to start shooting summer 2015 on location in Japan. Tokyo Vice stars Daniel Radcliffe and is directed by music vid/commercials director Anthony Mandler. J.T. Rogers wrote the screenplay. The project is based on the best-selling memoir Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan by Jake Adelstein.
Aldamisa Acquires Worldwide Rights To Royal Ice
Aldamisa has acquired the international rights to Royal Ice, based upon the life story of Albert II of Monaco. The story is based on the true-life events of how Albert II, Heir Apparent of Monaco went through trials and tribulations to accomplish his dream of assembling Monaco’s first ever bobsledding team, despite his lack of experience, the anatopism and his father’s disapproval and concern. The picture is based on a story by Prince Albert II and Mark Thomas, and a screenplay written by Thomas, who was a member of the Prince’s original bobsled team. Production is scheduled to start this November. Aldamisa will be representing foreign sales, as well as financing and producing. Aldamisa Co-Chairman Sergei Bespalov will serve as a producer, along with Alexey Petrukhin, Mark Thomas, John Bernard and Oleg Boyko. Alexander Zanzer will be the Executive producer and diplomatic consultant on Royal relations. Jason Van Eman and Ben McConley serve as executive producers as well.
XLrator Media Pacts With RNR Entertainment On Action Slate
XLrator Media (Jimi: All is By My Side, The Machine) has announced a three-picture production slate of action-thrillers with RNR Entertainment, the new production shingle from producers Rick Benattar (Real Steel, Ironclad, Shoot ‘Em Up), Nigel Thomas (Jimi: All Is By My Side, Palme d’Or winner The Wind That Shakes the Barley) and Robert Menzies (House At The End Of The Street), which it will co-produce and distribute worldwide. The pact follows their successful domestic partnership on Ironclad and sequel Ironclad: Battle For Blood and Jimi: All is By My Side, which XLrator Media released in North America. XLrator recently announced a slate of three sci-fi thrillers with the prolific indie production company New Artists Alliance. The first film in the three-picture slate between XLrator and RNR is Paradox, written and directed by Michael Hurst (Femme Fatales, Hard Wired), which goes before the cameras in spring 2016. In Paradox, a group of young scientists are work on a time travel project, sending one of their own ahead one hour. He returns pleading with them to shut it down, explaining that within that hour, they will all die. The project was brought to the company by Jorge Saralegui who will co-produce.
