Since its opening on Oct. 17, the comedy has grossed $4.4 million domestically for Roadside Attractions. The former record-holder was Zach Braff’s “Wish I Was Here” with $3.6 million for Focus following its July release. Indiegogo noted that its film campaigns last year for “Lazer Team,” “Tabletop,” “Video Game High School 3″ and “Gosnell” are among four of the top 10 highest-grossing film campaigns of all time. “Indiegogo has experienced 115% growth in the film category over the last couple of years,” said Slava Rubin, CEO of Indiegogo. “Since our launch at Sundance in 2008, 41,106 films in 166 countries have received funds from Indiegogo.” The company also posted a short documentary on YouTube about “Dear White People.”
