deadline.com/2015/01/ghostbusters-melissa-mccarthy-kristen-wiig-kate-mckinnon-leslie-jones-1201360760/‘Ghostbusters’ Casting: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones Sony Pictures and director Paul Feig have found their foursome to reboot the Ghostbusters franchise. Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig are rejoining their Bridesmaids helmer Feig on the pic, with Saturday Night Live castmembers Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones also coming aboard. We’re hearing the studio is still in negotiations but Feig apparently is confident enough about locking his cast that will fill the iconic roles played by Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson: The news came via a Feig tweet. Katie Dippold, who collaborated with Feig and McCarthy on The Heat, is writing the script and a production start this year is being eyed.

deadline.com/2015/07/ghostbusters-car-paul-feig-twitter-pic-1201471992/Paul Feig Tweets First Pic Of New ‘Ghostbusters’ Car You were expecting maybe a Prius? It appears that the female parapsychologists in the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot will be getting a retro ride, just as their mid-’80s forebears did. Director Paul Feig tweeted a photo tonight of the new Ecto-1, which has no shortage of sirens and whistles like the tricked-out ’59 Caddy ambulance from the originals. This one looks like it might have been in a funeral parlor’s driveway when the Bill Murray-Dan Aykroyd-Harold Ramis romp came out in 1984. Check out the bitchin’ hood ornament, pinstripes and lemon-yellow cherry top. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones will be cruising in style as they hunt their ghostly quarry. So can you dig it, folks? Or is this a modern fail of ectoplasmatic proportions? Let us know. Here is the new ride, and we’ve added a couple snaps of the original Ecto-1 below for comparison’s sake: s1029.photobucket.com/user/Simonlove69/media/z8_zpswzx5rnyb.jpg.html

deadline.com/2015/07/ghostbusters-3-neil-casey-cast-villain-1201471580/‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Finds Its Bad Guy: Neil Casey Neil Casey has been set to play the villain in Ghostbusters, Sony’s female-driven reboot of the comedy franchise that is being directed by Paul Feig from a script by Feig and Kate Dippold. Shooting is already underway. Casey is a writer and actor whose scribe credits include Saturday Night Live, where three of the film’s leads — Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones — came from. (The fourth, Melissa McCarthy, has been one of SNL‘s best guest hosts over the past few years.) Casey also has written for Inside Amy Schumer and The Kroll Show. On the other side of the camera his acting credits include Veep, Broad City, Playing House, The League and the SXSW film Fort Tilden, which won the 2014 Grand Jury Award for best narrative feature. He currently stars in Feig’s Yahoo original series Other Space. The reboot of the franchise already has added Chris Hemsworth, who will be playing the male version of Annie Potts’ Janine Melnitz, secretary to the original band of ghostbusters. Details of Casey’s character, Rowan, are being kept under wraps, but he does look a bit like Peter MacNicol, who played the rather harmless bad guy Dr. Janosz Poha in Ghostbusters II. The latest Ghostbusters has a July 22, 2016 release date. Casey is represented by UTA, Mosaic and attorney Dan Fox. s1029.photobucket.com/user/Simonlove69/media/neil-casey_zps7g4dot1b.jpg.html

Earlier today, Aykroyd tweeted a message saying, “On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig Lady GB’S are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilarating! #ghostbusters.” Aykroyd since deleted the tweet; however, Entertainment Weekly confirmed the actor’s involvement in the film with his representatives. There is no further information on who exactly Aykroyd will play — whether Ray Stanz or a whole new character. The ‘bustin’ begins July 22, 2016 when “Ghostbusters” arrives in theaters.
