According to Oscar Isaac, who will play the title role in X-Men: Apocalypse, it requires a blend of practical and computer-generated techniques. “It’ll be a mix,” Isaac, who joined the Fox sequel in November, tells Yahoo! Movies. “I haven’t had a script so I haven’t had a chance to look through the script and see what the exact requirements are, but I think it’ll be a mixture of physical, aided with some robotic technology.” Although he’s busy promoting his next film Ex Machina, the actor noted he’s already in the process of getting into Apocalypse’s head, literally. “After we finish here I’m heading to do a head cast, which they do often,” he said. “You spend three to four hours with them putting plaster all over your head and they get a sense of what your face is like and what shape your head is, so they can start figuring out the costume and the make up and all that stuff, which is pretty fun.” Isaac is the first new addition announced for X-Men: Apocalypse, the third installment of Fox’s current franchise. Because the Bryan Singer film takes place in the 1980s, new versions of Cyclops, Storm and Jean Grey are being eyed. That also means that franchise favorites Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen will sit this one out. Also starring returning actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Holt and Evan Peters, X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
