Wizard World Cleveland Comic Con is less than a month away, and Wizard World’s Jerry Milani isn’t concerned about competition from Wizard World’s two other shows in nearby cities, Columbus and Pittsburgh: “They are all distinct markets,” he told reporter Michael Sangiacomo.”We find that somewhere between one-quarter and one-third of our fans attend multiple shows, that will probably increase when we have shows close together, but the shows have enough different guest stars that we hope people will be drawn to them.” Comics guests will include Neal Adams, Rob Liefeld and Thom Zahler.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – It's a little more than four weeks away, but Wizard World Cleveland Comic Con is gearing up for the biggest comic convention to hit the city since the 1988 "Neverending Battle" celebration of the the 50th anniversary of Superman.
Granted, there are more television and movie big names than comic book people coming, but they bring in the people. Wizard, a group that promotes comic conventions across the country, expects tens of thousands of fans to brave the Cleveland winter and come to the Cleveland Convention Center Feb. 20 through Feb. 22.
The guest list is pretty huge, headed up by William Shatner, (Captain James T. Kirk of "Star Trek" fame,); Ian Somerhalder ("The Vampire Diaries"); Bruce Campbell ("Evil Dead," "Burn Notice"); Dolph Ziggler (WWE wrestler) and dozens more.
On the comic side, Neal Adams ("Batman," "Green Lantern/Green Arrow"); Michael Golden ("Batman," "Spider-Man"); Arthur Suydam ("Marvel Zombies"); Rob Liefeld ("Youngblood," "Deadpool") are among dozens scheduled to appear.

Local writers and artists include Tony Isabella ("Black Lightning"); Thom Zahler ("Love and Capes"); Marc Sumerak ("Power Pack") and others.
Wizard has added yet another city to its convention schedule. Wizard spokesman Jerry Milani said Wizard has taken over the Pittsburgh Comic Convention, scheduled for Sept. 11 through 13.
That will be the third Wizard Comic con within a two hour drive from Cleveland, including the Columbus convention which takes place Sept. 18 to 20.
"They are all distinct markets," he said."We find that somewhere between one-quarter and one-third of our fans attend multiple shows, that will probably increase when we have shows close together, but the shows have enough different guest stars that we hope people will be drawn to them."
The comic convention also features booths selling comics and graphic novels from the 1930s to present, movie and television memorabilia and odd items like statues, drawings and swords.
Also expect many people walking around dressed as their favorite fantasy characters.
Milani said the convention will also feature numerous panels featuring the guests. He said he would like to include one presented by the Siegel and Shuster Society, which was formed to promote Superman and his Cleveland creators, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
"We have two other shows in February to prepare for besides Cleveland," Milani said, referring to conventions in Madison, Wis., and Indianapolis, Ind. "We'll line up the panels about 10 days before the Cleveland show."
Wizard is doing something different this year to cut down on the amount of time fans wait in line for an autograph or photo.
"For the bigger celebrities, there will be an A and B system, so that people can get in line at the right time and won't spend hours standing in line and can use that time to walk around the hall," he said.
This is a welcome change. At previous conventions, fans literally spent the entire day in line to get a cherished photo-op.
The Wizard show in Cleveland is not cheap. An all-weekend ticket is $75: $35 for Friday; $45 for Saturday and $40 for Sunday. Each ticket has an added expense of about $8.
And if you want to pony up next to your favorite actor for an autograph or photo, you'd better have your Visa ready. A photo with Shatner will cost $80, Somerhalder charges even more at $85. Ziggler charged $40 and Lou Ferrigno (TV's Hulk) asks $55.
Autographs are cheaper, except in the case of Shatner who also charges $80 for an autograph.
