The Commercial Appeal of Memphis spoke with WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler at the annual Memphis Comic and Fantasy Convention last weekend. Lawler confirmed that WWE is working on a DVD project for him. He said:
"They've just finished interviewing Lance Russell, Bill Dundee and Jerry Jarrett, so it's not too far down the road. It'll be big matches, a retrospective of my entire career. It'll go all the way (from) the Memphis days up to the WWE days."

The working title for WWE's Jerry Lawler DVD and Blu-ray set is "It's Good To Be The King: The Jerry Lawler Story." It's scheduled to be released in May.

The official release date for WWE's "Jerry Lawler: It's Good To Be King" DVD and Blu-ray is May 19th. It's now available for pre-order on Amazon.

WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that WWE's "It's Good To Be The King: The Jerry Lawler Story" DVD and Blu-ray that comes out on May 19th will feature interview footage with Lawler's ex-wife Stacy Carter, known to WWE fans as The Kat. The set features a documentary with a runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. In the documentary, Lawler is shown drawing various wrestling related pieces of art including a piece on the McMahon family.

Jerry Lawler appeared on the Cerrito Live podcast this week and revealed that he was very involved with selecting the content on his new WWE DVD, working alongside WWE Network Series Producer Matt Rogers, according to WrestlingDVDNews.com. Lawler also said for the most part, WWE let him pick out the Memphis Wrestling material he wanted and the matches he chose come from the Memphis content library that he owns himself, at a cost to WWE.
