variety.com/2014/tv/news/malin-akerman-cast-in-yahoo-scripted-series-sin-city-saints-1201326202/Yahoo announced the beginning of production on its original scripted comedy series “Sin City Saints” Thursday, with cast members including Malin Akerman, Tom Arnold and Andrew Santino. The Las Vegas-set show, conceived by Mandalay Sports Media, follows wealthy tech businessman Jake Tullus (Santino), the “unpredictable and charismatic owner” of Vegas’ new professional basketball franchise, the Sin City Saints. Akerman will play Dusty Halford, a lawyer who is the special assistant to the Commissioner, with Arnold rounding out the stars as Kevin Freeman, a private casino host. Santino and Akerman both come to the show on the heels of short-lived ABC sitcoms, with Santino starring in “Mixology” and Akerman in “Trophy Wife,” both cancelled in May of this year after one season. The cast also includes B.K. Cannon, Justin Chon, Keith Powers, and former NBA players Rick Fox and Baron Davis. The eight-episode webseries is in production at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, with Mike Tollin, Chris Case, Bryan Gordon serving as EPs and veteran TV helmer Fred Savage set to direct two episodes.
