deadline.com/2014/10/stephen-collins-agency-dropped-apa-849659/APA has severed ties with Stephen Collins, the latest move by Hollywood to back away from the veteran actor after word got out Tuesday that he is the subject of police investigations over sexual contact with multiple children. A source with knowledge of the situation told Deadline this evening that APA has severed ties and is no longer repping him. On Wednesday, the former 7th Heaven star had his scenes cut from an upcoming episode of the Scandal, after he said a couple of weeks ago that he was returning his return to Shonda Rhimes’ ABC drama after a 2012 appearance. On Tuesday, the day the investigation was made public, UP TV (formerly The Gospel Music Channel) said it was pulling 7th Heaven from its programming schedule. Collins played the patriarch and pastor on the long-running drama that originated on The WB Network, then migrated to CW until ending in 2007. A SAG-AFTRA rep told Deadline that Collins resigned from its national board the same day. He had been elected in 2011 and reelected in August 2013 for a four-year term. Collins also was dropped from Universal’s sequel Ted 2, in which he had a small role.

The network, which carries ‘Uplifting’ family friendly content, airs in 67 millions across the U.S. “As a top family-friendly network, we are deeply concerned for the families that are potentially affected by these disturbing allegations surrounding actor Stephen Collins,” Charley Humbard, president & CEO, UP said in a statement. “‘7th Heaven’ has been a beloved family show and a fan-favorite on our network. We have made the decision to remove the series from our schedule effective at 5 p.m. ET today. We will continue to monitor the situation and listen carefully to our viewers. Replacing ‘7th Heaven’ tonight will be ‘Supernanny,’ a series dedicated to bringing families together.” Collins, who played a pastor in the long-running series, resigned from SAG-AFTRA’s board on Tuesday after being fired from Seth MacFarlane’s “Ted 2.” TMZ posted an alleged confession of the actor discussing lewd acts with children ages 10 and 12 years old. A spokesman for the actor could not be reached for comment.
