Comic-Con: ‘Ant-Man’ Roles For Evangeline Lilly & Corey Stoll Revealed
Comic-Con: ‘Ant-Man’ Roles For Evangeline Lilly & Corey Stoll RevealedMarvel has confirmed that Evangeline Lilly will play Hope Pym, the daughter of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym in its Ant-Man pic. Hank Pym is looking to pass the Ant-Man mantle on to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang in the Marvel mythology. It also dished during its Hall H panel that Corey Stoll will play Darren Cross, who obtains Pym particles and dons the villainous mantle of Yellowjacket.
Both had been confirmed previously for the pic, being directed by Peyton Reed. The casting update comes a day after our Mike Fleming Jr reported that Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerald and Kevin Weisman have fallen out of the cast. The movie has been in some state of flux after director Edgar Wright dropped out over differences in creative vision with Marvel’s Kevin Feige, so not surprisingly there is speculation that the trio’s exit is for the same reason that Wright departed and was replaced by Reed. Marvel insiders adamantly dispute that.
Insiders say Gerald and Weisman’s characters were omitted in the newly evolved version of the script. Wilson, on the other hand, had a scheduling conflict.
