Damien Farren, who was an office worker in ECW and a long-time right-hand man of Shane Douglas in many ventures including the original Extreme Rising promotion, passed away in his sleep this morning according to longtime friend Cody Michaels.
Farren traveled the circuit running the merchandise stand for ECW and worked in the office for Paul Heyman. He became tight with Douglas and worked with him on XPW, Hardcore Homecoming, Extreme Rising and other reunion shows.
The last few years presented a number of challenge to him including battling cancer and two very bad auto accidents that left him with neck problems, one coming back from an Extreme Rising show to the Baltimore area.
He was living in Ireland with his parents getting treatment and it was said he was at his best both mentally and physically in years.

Damien Farren, who worked for the original Extreme Championship Wrestling in the merchandise end as well as helping with lots of logistical work and was Shane Douglas' right hand man for a lot of his post-ECW projects, passed away late last night or early this morning in his native Ireland. Farren had returned to Ireland several months ago to work on his health after he had learned that his cancer, which had been in remission, had returned. His health had been very good and he was watching WWE with friends when he felt tired and went to bed. When they checked on him, he had passed away in his sleep.
Farren was extremely close with Shane Douglas and left ECW with him in 1999, going on to work with him in a ton of different projects. He had maintained an archive of just about every piece of ECW merchandise ever sold and had privately talked of selling it off just a few months ago as his plan was to sell off what he had in the States and then return permanently to Ireland.
Farren was well liked among the wrestlers and a really good guy. On behalf of everyone here at PWInsider.com, especially those that worked with him during our time at ECW's official website, we'd like to express our deepest condolences to Farren's family and friends.
