Automatic Entertainment is bringing Jean-Claude Van Damme’s actioner “Pound of Flesh” to the European Film Market in Berlin.
Automatic has finalized deals for “Pound of Flesh” with Ace Entertainment for France, Klockworx for Japan, Leda Films for Latin America and Eastern Europe, CIS and South Africa going to Daro.
“Pound of Flesh” begins principal photography in March in Guangzhou, China. Ernie Barbarash, who directed Van Damme in “6 Bullets” and “Assassination Games,” is directing.
Odyssey Media’s Kirk Shaw and ACE Studio’s Henry Luk are producing.
The script follows a hard man who rescues a beautiful woman in distress one night and wakes up the next morning in a blood-soaked hotel bathtub and stitches where his kidney used to be.
Automatic Entertainment was established in 2011 and is co-owned by Michael Lurie and Jeffrey Giles.
