Millennium Films Taps Jeffrey Greenstein, Jonathan Yunger for Top Roles (Exclusive)
The company behind the 'Expendables' action movies promoted the two to president and co-president to replace Mark Gill, who left his post earlier this year after clashing with founder Avi Lerner.
Millennium Media has looked inward to fill in its top positions.
The company behind the Expendables action movies has tapped Jeffrey Greenstein as president and Jonathan Yunger as co-president. The move is intended to fill the void left by Mark Gill, who exited the post earlier this year after clashing with Millennium founder Avi Lerner. The latter is hoping to start a new era for his long-standing company with the hires.
Both Greenstein and Yunger began as assistants to Lerner, who founded the company in the early 1990s, and moved up the ranks. Greenstein was most recently the president of international sales and distribution, a post he had held since 2015, while Yunger was director of creative affairs.
Greenstein has managed the international rollout for action movie The Hitman's Bodyguard and installments of the Expendables, Mechanic and Has Fallen series.
Yunger worked with the Independent Film and Television Alliance and Congress in fighting piracy and is developing proprietary anti-piracy technologies at Millennium. He also moved into development before segueing to international sales as vp.
“Both Jeffrey and Jonathan have extraordinary instincts for our business,” said Lerner in a statement. “From the beginning, Jeffrey’s talents were clear. His drive, zeal for knowledge and his success running our international division have more than exceeded our expectations.”
Regarding Yunger, Lerner added, “It has been a pleasure watching Jonathan grow into this well-deserved position.”
Millennium is currently in production on Hellboy, a reboot of the Dark Horse comic hero, and in preproduction on Angel Has Fallen, the latest installment of the action franchise, for which star Gerard Butler is set to return.
