Alan Tudyk is returning to the Star Wars universe and his Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character K-2SO — but as a writer. Tudyk will be co-writing the second story in the upcoming third issue of IDW's young-reader Star Wars Adventures comic book series, titled "Adventures in Wookiee-Sitting," which sees his irascible droid and sidekick Cassian Andor end up with a cargo full of baby Wookiees during a mission. Shannon Denton co-writes the short, with Arianna Florean providing art. Talking to Nerdist, Tudyk downplayed his contributions, saying, "I wrote some of K-2SO's words in this. I know how he speaks and thinks since I spoke and thunk him in Rogue One." (Indeed, Tudyk reportedly improvised parts of the character's dialogue that made it into the finished movie.) The issue will be the second chance Rogue One fans have to see an earlier version of the characters in comic book form; Marvel released Star Wars: Rogue One — Cassian & K-2SO Special in August, showing how the two met in the first place. Star Wars Adventures No. 3 will be released digitally and in comic book stores Oct. 11, and will also include a main feature by Landry Walker and Eric Jones set before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in which the future Finn has to deal with a baby alien on the loose aboard a First Order ship.
