deadline.com/2017/09/steve-lemme-comedy-pitch-chernin-entertainment-1202168445/Chernin Entertainment Picks Up Comedy Pitch From Broken Lizard’s Steve Lemme EXCLUSIVE: Chernin Entertainment has picked up a comedy pitch for an untitled feature film (working title: Bring Your Kid to Work Day) from actor-writer Steve Lemme. The family comedy was bought pre-emptively from Lemme, a founding member of the Broken Lizard comedy group. Their 2002 feature Super Troopers was made for $3 million and took in $23.1M worldwide — its sequel arrives April 20 — while its Beerfest, another nothing-budgeted comedy, made $20.3M worldwide. Lemme wrote all three films with the Broken Lizard troupe. He also co-wrote and co-starred in the Broken Lizard films Puddle Cruiser, Club Dread and The Slammin’ Salmon and is developing The Breakdance Battle of Dusty River, a feature film for Lionsgate with Brett Ratner and Russell Simmons producing He also co-stars in Fox Searchlight’s Super Troopers 2, which is directed by fellow Broken Lizard member Jay Chandrasekhar. Lemme is repped by The Gotham Group, CAA and David Krintzman of Morris Yorn.
