www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/thor-ragnarok-hulk-will-fight-thor-961162It's time for the rematch of the century. They may have sat out the superhero Civil War, but Thor and Hulk aren't skipping last year's trend of hero fighting hero. A new plot synopsis for November's Thor: Ragnarok reveals that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) will be pitted against one another in the gladiator ring. "In Marvel Studios' Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!" Disney also released a behind-the-scenes photo of Hemsworth on set with director Taika Waititi. Part of the film will draw inspiration from the 2006-07 Planet Hulk comic book storyline, which saw the Hulk marooned on a distant planet and forced to fight as a gladiator. The Ragnarok battle will be a rematch of sorts, following Hulk and Thor's fight in in 2012's Avengers (though this time it sounds like Thor won't have the benefit of Mjolnir). Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for release Nov. 3.

icv2.com/articles/news/view/36474/thor-vs-hulk-faceoff-confirmedTHOR VS. HULK FACEOFF CONFIRMED In 'Thor: Ragnarok' Posted by Betsy Gomez on January 9, 2017 @ 5:28 pm CT Marvel has finally confirmed the long-rumored faceoff between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk in the third installment of the Thor film series reports The Huffington Post. Marvel released the synopsis for Thor: Ragnarok, which reveals that Thor will be imprisoned without his trusty hammer Mjolnir. Thor races against time to return to Asgard to prevent Ragnarok, and Hela, the villain played by Cate Blanchett , pits him against the Hulk in a gladiatorial battle. Ruffalo’s reprisal of the role of Hulk was confirmed in late 2015 , but few details were revealed about the part he would play in the film. The faceoff between the two was seemingly confirmed by Hemsworth in a January 2016 interview with Huffington Post, during which Hemsworth quipped that Thor would want the Hulkbuster armor if he didn’t have his hammer. Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters November 3, 2017.
