Ana De La Reguera Joining ‘Everything Everything’ Movie
Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera is joining MGM’s teen romance “Everything Everything,” starring Amandla Stenberg and Nick Robinson.
Stella Meghie is directing from J. Mills Goodloe’s script, adapted from Nicola Yoon’s young adult novel of the same name. Les Morgenstein and Elysa Dutton of Alloy Entertainment are producing.
Stenberg will portray a teen with severe combined immunodeficiency, also known as “bubble baby disease,” which causes her to be allergic to practically everything. Due to her condition, she’s unable to leave her house in Los Angeles but she begins to fall in love with a boy — played by Robinson — who moves in next door.
The book was published in September by Random House’s Delacorte and debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times YA best-seller list. It was sold in 34 territories and 32 languages.
Meghie made her feature directorial debut with “Jean of the Joneses.” Goodloe wrote the script for Blake Lively’s “Age of Adaline” at Lionsgate and Fox’s upcoming “The Mountains Between Us,” starring Idris Elba.
De la Reguera will play the nurse and confidante to Stenberg’s character, who oversees her daily health and well-being. Stenberg and “Jurassic World” star Robinson came on to the project in July.
De la Reguera’s credits include the Netflix series “Narcos,” The CW’s “Jane The Virgin,” HBO’s “Eastbound & Down” and the features “Nacho Libre” and “Cowboys & Aliens.” She will be seen on the upcoming season of “From Dusk Till Dawn” and David Lynch’s upcoming Showtime series “Twin Peaks.”
De la Reguera is repped by Paradigm, MGMT Entertainment and Gang, Tyre.
