The deal comes ahead of the pic’s March 2 theatrical bow at New York’s Film Forum ahead of a national rollout and digital release. The pic, which premiered at Sundance 2015, is up for three Spirit Awards this year including Best First Film and Best Cinematography. It also played in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the last Cannes Film Festival. The deal was negotiated between Kino Lorber CEO Richard Lorber and Zhao.
