Discovery/Liberty Global’s All3Media Buys ‘Indian Summers’ Producer New Pictures
LONDON — All3Media, which is jointly owned by Discovery and John Malone’s Liberty Global, has acquired New Pictures, the U.K. production company behind drama series “The Missing” (BBC/Starz) and “Indian Summers” (Channel 4/WGBH).
Both “The Missing” and “Indian Summers” were critical and audience hits, and are now in production on their second seasons. New Pictures, which was set up by Charlie Pattinson, Elaine Pyke, Willow Grylls and Richard Nelson, has been commissioned to produce two new thriller series for the BBC in 2016/17: “Rellik” and “Requiem.”
Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be working with Charlie, Elaine, WiIllow and Richard as they develop and grow their slate of programs through New Pictures. They are a fantastic team with a phenomenal track record and very exciting plans for the business.”

The acquisition is the latest in a string of purchases of production companies by All3Media, which is comprised of 21 production and distribution companies from across Europe, New Zealand and U.S. These include Apollo20, Bentley Prods., Company Pictures, IDTV, John Stanley Prods., Lime Pictures, Lion Television, Little Dot Studios, Maverick Television, MME Moviement, Neal Street Prods., New Pictures, North One Television, Objective Prods., Optomen, One Potato Two Potato, Seven Stories, South Pacific Pictures, Studio Lambert, All3Media America and All3Media Intl.
