The new content influx comes courtesy of online-radio platform Stitcher, which Deezer acquired last fall. Some of the U.S. programming now available on Deezer includes shows from NPR, Slate, the Financial Times and WNYC, but U.S.-based listeners will have to wait a little longer to listen to their favorite shows through the service: Deezer first added talk programming in France, the UK and Sweden, and aims to roll out the content internationally in the coming months. Deezer soft-launched in the U.S. in partnership with Bose and Sonos last year, allowing owners of connected speakers to access Deezer’s service. In January, Deezer announced the acquisition of Muve Music, the mobile-focused music subscription service that was exclusive to customers of Cricket’s prepaid wireless service. Deezer North America CEO Tyler Goldman said at the time that the company plans a full-fledged launch in the U.S. later this year.
