deadline.com/2015/05/marvel-agents-of-shield-spinoff-dead-abc-1201422761/I hear ABC and Marvel have put the brakes on the proposed Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff. The project was supposed to be set up by events from this season of S.H.I.E.L.D. and toplined by Season 2 cast additions Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood, revolving around their respective characters Lance Hunter and Barbara “Bobbi” Morse, aka Mockingbird. ABC and Marvel had no comment. The project had been developed quietly by S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski. S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have been divided by the spinoff, and there had been some backlash to the idea of taking some of the strongest new characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. away from the mothership series. There was an inkling that the spinoff might not be going forward when ABC tonight renewed both existing Marvel series, S.H.I.E.L.D. for a third season, and Agent Carter, which bridged S.H.I.E.L.D.’s half-seasons this year, for a second. ABC and Marvel also are secretly working on a potential series with John Ridley, who will be busy with a second installment of American Crime, just picked up by the network.
