Available in iOs App Store, Ferris allows users to easily share video shot on mobile devices in an innovative fashion conducive to storytelling. Disparate videos from a user’s vacation, for instance, can be weaved together to form a coherent narrative, or multiple users’ footage from the same vacation can be brought together into one seamless piece of content. The videos can be from different platforms ranging from Instagram to Periscope, but still merged and shared back out on social media. “The idea of personal, intimate video just sitting on your phone that goes to waste doesn’t have to be that way,” said Ferris CEO Paul Boukadakis. “We want to rekindle those moments by making stories of them, and to have people continue these stories.” Upfront Ventures has been very active in its local Los Angeles market, funding a range of online-video properties including Maker Studios, Vidme and Mitu. Upfront founder Mark Suster will also join the board of Ferris. DeBevoise’s investments in the same sector have included Machinima, where he previously served as CEO, as well as DanceOn and Tubular Labs.
