variety.com/2015/digital/news/steve-buscemi-aol-park-bench-1201479136/AOL is bringing back “Park Bench,” featuring thesp Steve Buscemi kibitzing with celebs and regular New Yorkers, for a second season. In the 12-episode season 2, Buscemi (HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire”) is slated to chat up guests including musician Elvis Costello, John Oliver of HBO’s “Last Week Tonight,” actress Amber Tamblyn, comedian Robert Smigel (“Saturday Night Live”), filmmaker Jim Jarmusch and magician David Blaine. Format is similar to that of Sony Crackle’s most popular show, “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” from Jerry Seinfeld. “Give me a seat on a park bench, and I’m happy,” Buscemi said. “Give me a second season of ‘Park Bench’ on AOL to talk about nothing and everything with old friends and new in an ever-changing New York City — what could be better?” The renewal announcement comes ahead of AOL’s scheduled Digital Content NewFronts presentation next week in New York on April 28. Produced by Buscemi’s Olive Prods. and RadicalMedia, “Park Bench” features the actor discussing everything from pop culture to current events with his guests and involving them in his daily life. In the first run of the show, Buscemi’s guests included Chris Rock, Rosie Perez (pictured above), Fred Armisen, Dick Cavett and Colin Quinn. “Steve Buscemi is one of the most recognizable actors of today, and viewers love the unique and entertaining style he brings to ‘Park Bench,'” said Dermot McCormack, president of AOL Video and AOL Studios. Wren Arthur and Steve Buscemi are executive producing for Olive Prods., and Justin Wilkes, Joe Killian and Jon Doran are exec producing for RadicalMedia. Buscemi and Olive are repped by WME, the Gotham Group and attorney George Sheanshang.
