Pappas, a native of Brooklyn, was featured in his own Comedy Central special and is former co-host of MSG’s sports-fan show “The Bracket.” He’s also known for his online characters Mr. Panos and Maurica. AOL’s “2 Point Lead,” with new episodes posting daily at 2 p.m. ET, will spotlight humor in sports culture, featuring comedians and pro athletes in comedy sketches, interviews and person-on-the-street clips. “‘2 Point Lead’ gives us the opportunity to engage with our social-media base and the robust conversations that are happening around sports and create a show that is uniquely our own,” said Dermot McCormack, president of AOL Video and AOL Studios. Added Pappas, “Sports fans have been waiting for something like ‘2 Point Lead,’ and I’m excited to bring them a totally new type of sports experience — one that will surprise and entertain them every single day.” In addition, the show will feature Nick Creegan, who was selected as the winner of the Internet media company’s “#AOLSportsSearch” competition last fall. AOL had previously said the winner would host a show on AOL Sports; instead, Creegan will be contributing various interviews and segments for “2 Point Lead.” The show will be available at aol.com/sports and across the AOL video network.
