TWC-Dimension is teaming with Jon Bon Jovi on If I Wasn’t A Rock Star, a reality series that sends stars back to their hometowns to meet their “civilian alter egos” and see how their lives might have been if they hadn’t pursed their careers in music. Prototype Entertainment and 3 Ball Entertainment also are on board for the project. “I was drawn to this project simply because it will be a celebration of the working men and women of this country,” said Bon Jovi, who will executive produce. They are the real rock stars.” No word yet on who is lined up to make those homecomings. If I Wasn’t a Rock Star also counts Bob Weinstein among its EPs. “The series will offer music fans a chance to see their favorite stars as they’ve never imagined them before,” TWC-Dimension’s Co-Chairman said. “We can’t wait to see what other amazing talent comes on board.” Also exec producing are 3 Ball Entertainment CEO Todd A. Nelson and CCO Brant Pinvidic, Prototype’s Frank Rainone and Teresa Sorkin and TWC SVP Television Patrick Reardon. The announcement comes a day after another ’80s-rooted pop star dove into the reality fray. Culture Club singer Boy George is linking with Bunim/Murray for a show that will follow the Brit’s relocation from London to L.A.
