‘Paris Call Girl’ Romantic Thriller Set with Brett Ratner, Sentinel
Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment and Sentinel Pictures are teaming on romantic thriller “Paris Call Girl” with commercials director Jake Nava directing, Variety has learned exclusively.
Ratner and John Cheng will produce for RatPac Entertainment. Adam Brawer and David Beitchman will produce for Sentinel Pictures. Agustine Calderon will serve as a co-producer.
Sentinel financed the development of “Paris Call Girl,” an original pitch from Matthew Ian Cirulnick, which tells the story of two star-crossed lovers and the wild, dangerous journey they must take through Paris to start a new life together. Kseniya is a young European woman fleeing the high-end call girl ring she was recently forced into and Rob is a young American man with a tragic past.
“I love the edgy romance of our seemingly mismatched young couple at the center of the action, the way the narrative twists, compelling them both to fight for each other and free themselves from the dangerous underbelly of contemporary Paris,” Nava said.
Nava has directed spots for Guinness, Puma, Bacardi and Armani along with music videos for Beyonce, Arctic Monkeys, Kanye West, the Rolling Stones and Lana Del Rey. He is repped by UTA and Brillstein.
Cirulnick is repped by CAA and Brillstein. He wrote 2002’s “Paid in Full,” which Ratner also produced, and “The Good Samaritan” with Gregory Hoblit directing for Voltage Pictures.
RatPac Entertainment is repped by WME. Sentinel is repped by attorney Roger Haber. They are also partnered on “In the Company of Lies,” slated for production later this year. RatPac has a first-look and a co-financing deal at Warner Bros. It co-financed “Horrible Bosses 2,” Russell Crowe’s “The Water Diviner,” Tom Hiddleston’s “I Saw the Light” and Leonardo DiCaprio’s “The Revenant.”
