‘Knock Knock’s’ Lorenza Izzo Signs For Paradigm
Fresh off Eli Roth’s Sundance premiere “Knock Knock,” where she drew heat for her performance as a sexual temptress-turned-home-invader – an update of 1977’s “Death Game,” “Knock Knock” “adds better acting,“ wrote Variety – sought-after Chile-born Lorenza Izzo has signed with Paradigm Talent Agency for representation.
Starring in “Knock Knock,” an upcoming wide release from Lionsgate, which purchased the film at the Sundance Festival for a reported $3 million in one of the biggest deals of this year’s fest, Izzo will also be seen in the lead role, opposite Daryl Sahara and Sky Ferreira, in Roth’s awaited “Green Inferno,” an Amazon-set cannibal horror-thriller. In it, Izzo maintains much of the audience empathy as a well-meaning and plucky student activist who keeps her cool when captured by the very same natives she’s come to protect.
Izzo recently starred opposite Haley Joel Osment in the romantic comedy, “Sex Ed.” Prior to that, she took the female lead in the NBC pilot, “I Am Victor,” opposite John Stamos and Matthew Lillard and had a recurrent role on the Gaumont Intl./Netflix series “Hemlock Grove.”
Studying theater in 2007 at an acting workshop at Lee Strasberg’s Actors Studio in New York, and the face of Brazilian fashion label Colcci in Chile, Izzo broke through to international notice playing opposite Eli Roth and Selena Gomez in the earthquake thriller, “Aftershock,” directed by Nicolas Lopez (“Promedio Rojo”), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness. It also served as a calling card for Roth and Lopez’s “Chilewood” Chile-based talent hub, empowering filmmakers to put films into production made for mainstream U.S. audiences and the world.
Izzo’s manger is Alissa Feldman at Authentic Talent & Literary Management.
