spinoff.comicbookresources.com/2015/03/15/friday-the-13th-tv-series-plot-details-revealed/News of a TV show based on the landmark horror film series “Friday the 13th” first came to the surface a year ago. Now, series creator Sean Cunningham has provided fresh details on the show’s potential plot. Cunningham was present at a Q&A during New Jersey’s Monster Mania convention, and fan site Friday the 13th Franchise received word of what the producer had to say. Reportedly, The CW is interested in the show, which would take place in the “real world” and how it reacts to the popular franchise. “According to [Cunningham],” one Tim Jacobs told the site, “the basic premise focuses on the REAL city of Crystal Lake, and the effect that the serialized films had on its real life counterpart. This allows them to reimagine Jason in a more grounded reality, as the films would be based off the real life killings that tool place at the Camp.” To that end, both the traditionally hockey mask-wearing Jason Voorhees and a “more serious backwoods inspired killer” will appear on the show. This goes against early reports that the show would follow Vorhees through “multiple time periods,” though it’s all still very early stages.
