variety.com/2015/film/news/dennis-maguire-exiting-as-paramounts-home-entertainment-chief-exclusive-1201452569/Dennis Maguire, who has served as president of worldwide home media distribution for Paramount Pictures since 2011, is leaving the studio. The exit is part of a company wide restructuring by Viacom, which has impacted the company’s cable networks, as well as the film studio. The overall cutbacks at Paramount alone resulted in close to 40 positions being eliminated. But Maguire’s role will be filled, according to a studio spokesperson, with a replacement expected to be named in the coming weeks. Maguire was responsible for the global sales, marketing and distribution of DVD, Digital, VOD and TV licensing of the studio’s content on all platforms. He originally joined Paramount in 2006 as president of Paramount Home Entertainment International, a post in which he restructured the studio’s international operations, which helped it generated $1 billion in revenue for the first time in 2007. Maguire also expanded Paramount’s homevideo business in Russia and China through partnerships with Universal and Warner Bros. He was tapped to head up Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment Worldwide in 2009, and promoted to the worldwide home media role in 2011. Maguire spent 23 years at Disney’s home entertainment division before joining Paramount.
