variety.com/2015/film/news/pat-mills-comedy-guidance-bought-for-u-s-by-strand-1201442322/Pat Mills Comedy ‘Guidance’ Bought for U.S. by Strand Strand Releasing has acquired U.S. rights to Pat Mills’ comedy “Guidance,” which premiered in September at the Toronto Film Festival. Mills stars as a pathologically immature former child actor who fakes a resume to become a high school guidance counselor and thrives as he gives terrible advice. Mills also directed from his own script, which touches on true-life situations since he was a child actor on the Nickelodeon series “You Can’t Do That on Television.” Dennis Harvey gave “Guidance” a strong review for Variety, calling it “a delight.” It’s Mills’ first feature film. His previous shorts “5 Dysfunctional People in a Car” and “Pat’s First Kiss” both screened at Toronto. Production companies are Edyson Entertainment in association with Telefilm Canada. Producers are Alyson Richards and Mike Macmillan. “Guidance” also stars Zahra Bentham, Tracey Hoyt, Kevin Hanchard, Alex Ozerov and Eleanor Zichy.
