deadline.com/2015/02/brad-schwartz-promoted-pop-president-david-wisnia-exits-1201379755/Brad Schwartz’s rise continues. Less than two years after he was brought in as president of Entertainment and Media for TVGN, a co-venture of CBS Corp. and Lionsgate, and on the heels of TVGN’s rebranding as Pop, I have learned Schwartz has been promoted to president of Pop. After the departure of TV Guide president Mike Mahon in 2013, the position had been split in two, with Schwartz tapped to oversee programming and David Wisnia appointed president of Business Operations. The responsibilities have now been merged again under Schwartz, with Wisnia exiting. I hear he announced his departure internally on Friday. The promotion rewards Schwartz who I hear is well-liked by CBS and Lionsgate, with both companies pleased with the way he executed the network’s rebrand. It mirrors the recent move by CBS to promote another rising executive, head of daytime Angelica McDaniel, who also was given oversight of development for first-run syndication, with Hilary Estey McLoughlin stepping down.
