variety.com/2014/tv/news/abc-ending-selfie-1201350713/ABC Cancels ‘Selfie’ ABC has effectively canceled “Selfie,” the freshman comedy starring Karen Gillan and John Cho. The Alphabet net will not order any additional episodes beyond the show’s initial 13, leaving its chances of survival slim. The laffer was created by Emily Kapnek, who also created ABC’s “Suburgatory,” which was canceled in May after three seasons. In Nielsen’s “most current” ratings, “Selfie” was averaging a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 4.7 million viewers overall. ABC has also canceled “Manhattan Love Story,” and picked up full seasons of “How to Get Away with Murder,” “Black-ish” and “Forever.”

variety.com/2014/tv/news/selfie-unaired-abc-episodes-head-to-hulu-1201364251/‘Selfie’ Unaired ABC Episodes Head to Hulu “Selfie” won’t be squelched. The seven remaining unaired episodes of the ABC sitcom that was yanked earlier this month are said to be headed to Hulu. Series creator Emily Kapnek spread the word in a Twitter message sent Nov. 19. “Selfie” has been part of the high casualty rate of new comedies this fall. ABC’s decision to pull the show from its sked after six airings came as a surprise to industry observers as the show — a contempo spin on “My Fair Lady” revolving around a narcissistic young woman addicted to digital media — was starting to get some traction with critics. Karen Gillan and John Cho starred. Reps for Warner Bros. TV and Hulu could not immediately be reached for comment late Monday.
