Part one, dubbed “Avengers: Infinity War,” will debut on May 4, 2018, with part two to follow on May 3, 2019. The “Avengers” news was only one of several major announcements Marvel dropped on the public at the event at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theater, which revealed Marvel’s nine-movie Phase 3. This will start with “Captain America: Civil War,” which bows May 6, 2016. The second “Avengers” installment, “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2015, starring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Ruffalo. The first “Avengers” grossed a whopping $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office after it was released in May 2012, becoming the third-highest grossing pic of all time, as well as the year’s top grossing movie.
