variety.com/2014/film/news/keir-gilchrists-dark-summer-u-s-home-ifc-1201331423/In a pre-American Film Market deal, IFC Midnight has acquired North American distribution rights to Keir Gilchrist’s supernatural horror film “Dark Summer.” IFC Midnight plans to release the film on all platforms on Jan. 9. The modern ghost story follows a 17 year old on house arrest for the summer when a horrifying incident occurs, followed by an even more terrifying presence in the house. Paul Solet (“Grace”) directed for Preferred Film & TV from a screenplay by Mike Le (creator of the web series “K-Town”). The film was produced by PFT’s Ross M. Dinerstein and executive produced by Content’s Jamie Carmichael. Also starring are Stella Maeve, Grace Phipps, Maestro Harrell and Peter Stormare. Content handles international sales and will present the film to foreign distributors at the upcoming AFM.
