variety.com/2014/tv/news/nbc-developing-marley-me-sequel-1201332881/NBC is developing a project with writer Jenny Bicks and director David Frankel that is billed as a sequel to “Marley & Me,” the best-selling novel and 2008 feature starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. “Marley & Me,” written by John Grogan, told the tear-jerking story of a family’s experience with a high-maintenance dog. The half-hour TV version from 20th Century Fox TV, is designed to pick up a few years after the movie’s end when the family encounters a new dog, according to Deadline. Frankel, who helmed the successful Fox 2000 feature, is on board as an exec producer with Bicks along with Karen Rosenfelt, producer of the pic.
