The news comes in Deadline’s story about the potential contenders for Warner Bros.’ newly confirmed Suicide Squad film — a list that’s now said to include Wolf of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie, who was previously eyed for Ghost in the Shell. Following roles in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and, most importantly, the $395 million-grossing Lucy, Johansson has become an in-demand action star, with a rising salary to match. According to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s earned $17 million in the past year. DreamWorks has been toying with a Ghost in the Shell adaptation since 2008, and finally settled on Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) to direct early this year. The 1989 manga centers on Public Security Section 9, a ccounter-cyberterrorist organization led by Major Motoko Kusanagi.
