From www.deadline.comMiramax In Deal To License TV, Digital For Revolution Studios Films: MIPCOM Heading into MIPCOM, Revolution Studios has arranged for Miramax to manage global television and digital distribution licensing for all film titles in its library. That includes the Morgan Creek international film library that the reconstituted Revolution recently acquired. This extends an a relationship Revolution had with Miramax and encompasses international rights on content that will revert back to Revolution in time. The Morgan Creek titles are available right away on the Croisette. The Revolution titles include Black Hawk Down, America’s Sweethearts, 13 Going On 30, Maid in Manhattan, XXX and Daddy Day Care, while the Morgan Creek films include Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, True Romance, The Last Of The Mohicans and Major League. Revolution CEO Vince Totino called the deal the “next step in our relationship with Miramax, which has proven to be a formula for success on the domestic front.” COO Scott Hemming called the Miramax sales team “among the most respected and creative in the industry…Miramax representing Revolution globally is the next natural step in continuing our collaboration of our already established and strong domestic foundation.” Said Miramax exec veep WW TV Sales Joe Patrick: This fantastic collection of content is highly complementary to the Miramax catalog, providing us unique positioning within the international TV and digital landscape.”

Revolution CEO Vince Totino, Revolution COO Scott Hemming and Miramax executive vice president of worldwide TV sales Joe Patrick made the announcement on Sunday. The deal comes on the heels of Revolution’s acquisition of the rights to Morgan Creek’s library for $36.75 million. The Miramax deal includes those Morgan Creek titles. The acquisition is an extension of Miramax’s domestic deal with Revolution, as its been distributing Revolution titles domestically since 2012. Miramax will begin representing Revolution titles internationally as rights revert back to Revolution, and Morgan Creek titles will be immediately available internationally from Miramax. “We are excited to take this next step in our relationship with Miramax, which has proven to be a formula for success on the domestic front,” said Totino in a statement. Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Revolution’s library includes more than 40 titles, including “American Sweethearts,” “Black Hawk Down,” “XXX,” “13 Going on 30,” “Maid in Manhattan” and “Daddy Day Care.” Morgan Creek titles acquired by Revolution and now represented by Miramax include “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,” “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “The Last of the Mohicans,” “Young Guns,” the “Major League” franchise and “The Whole Nine Yards.”
