Mythology Entertainment, the production company run by Brad Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis, has teamed with comic company Zenescope Entertainment to adapt the latter's title The Library. Library is a spinoff from Zenescope's Grimm Universe series. The story follows the adventures of a teenage girl and her brother as they accidentally unlock various portals within a historic library that physically transport them into the strange worlds of the books that surround them. No writer is attached at this stage. Fischer, Vanderbilt and Jon Silk will produce with Zenescope founders Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco as well as Echo Lake Entertainment's Dave Brown. Mythology is gearing up for a busy near future. It is currently in preproduction on Vanderbilt's directorial debut, Truth, an adaptation of Mary Mapes' memoir Truth and Duty that has Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford attached to star. And it just snagged Mark Romanek to direct The Overlook Hotel, the prequel to horror classic The Shining, for Warners. Zenescope, launched in 2005, focuses on many fairy tales and folk tales, as well as myths with modern twists and sensibilities. Grimm Fairy Tales is its flagship title.
